Job Description

Churchdown Surgery is a growing practice of over 15,400 patients situated in a modern practice building focusing on proactive personalised care and collaboration with our community.
We have 7 GP Partners and 1 Clinical Pharmacist Partner. Across the practice we value and support our skilled clinical and non-clinical teams in delivering patient centred and compassionate care within safe working limits. We are a practice that believes in improvement and learning and as such are an enthusiastic training practice. Our community is important to us. Our excellent PCN Living Well Team, formed of Social Prescribers, Health and Wellbeing Coaches, Care Coordinators and Frailty Nurses, alongside our volunteer Health Champions help us support and build community assets to reduce isolation and provide a social safety net some of our most vulnerable patients. We have access to a large Clinical Pharmacy team alongside, First Contact Physiotherapists and Mental Health Practitioners as part of North and South Gloucester PCN.
We are seeking to recruit a 4 – 6 session GP on a fixed term contract of 12 months with the ambition that this would become a permanent member of our team. Ideally you would have an interest in diabetes management and share our willingness to teach and develop others. We value continuity of care and have personal lists for all Partner and Salaried GPs which would be included in this job plan.
As part of our team, you will:
• have 15 minute appointments
• meet with our supportive team for mid-morning / afternoon coffee, a catch up and lunch break – we value our time together (occasionally this is outside in our allotment if the sun is shining!)
• bring your most vulnerable patients to our fortnightly MDT led by one of our Care Coordinators
• be part of our on-the-day clinical team working closely with our care navigators
• have six weeks annual leave and one week of study leave
• receive a competitive sessional rate with indemnity covered under the practice group policy.
If you would like to explore the opportunity to join ‘Team Churchdown’ with us, please do contact our management team for an informal conversation and to arrange a visit to the practice. Alternatively, to apply please email your CV and a covering letter.
