Job Description
We are looking to recruit innovative GP Assistants to expand our multidisciplinary team and provide a holistic approach to our patient population.
This new role offers the opportunity to collaborate with GPs to enhance and improve the experience for both patients and staff in a busy clinic. It may require applying clinical knowledge alongside efficient administrative skills, facilitating a smoother and more efficient pathway.
Our team will support and train successful post-holders, assigning them a designated GP mentor. If desired, they will also receive assistance in completing an accredited training programme and obtaining formal certification.
Experience in primary care is desirable.

Dockham Surgery is based in Cinderford, in the beautiful Forest of Dean. We have a growing list of just over 6,200 patients.
We have an excellent multidisciplinary team that includes two GP partners, three salaried GPs, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, fantastic nursing staff, a clinical pharmacist, a pharmacy technician, and a dedicated administrative team that will support you.
Person Specification
Essential:
• Experience of working in general practice/primary care.
• Administrative experience and good organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Clinical Coding,
Desirable
• Experience of System One Patient System
• Knowledge of referral processes within primary care
Qualifications
Essential
• Grade A-C in GCSE Maths & English, or equivalent.
• Ability to understand the need always to maintain confidentiality and data security.
• Ability to work in a team and be comfortable working independently.
• Excellent communication skills and empathy with patients.
• Demonstrates values and behaviours that promote collaborative working.
• Able to apply confidentiality, tact and diplomacy in conducting the duties required of this role.
Desirable
• Care Certificate.
• Competence in full Health Care Assistant Duties.
• Qualified to NVQ level 3 in Administration or Health Care
20 Hrs per week, Band 3 – 4. Fixed Term dependent upon ARRS funding continuation
